Videogames has always been an integral part of me. I've been playing as long as I had gained enough conciousness to do so. In this page, I revisit my love for some of the classics I played and even enjoy today.
- Project IGI
IGI games are not your regular tactical shooters. It's a pioneer of shooter games defining what the genre 'singleplayer' can mean.
These games generally revolves around a skilled agent (the playable character) working for a fictional agency known as IGI, who is sent solo on various covert peacekeeping missions around the world.
The gameplay are the missions that take place across various different locations and environments. The player, as the sole operative or without any help of any other consistent on-ground accomplice, must achieve all objectives required to complete the mission.
It is the first game I ever played on a PC and I (kind of) remain "religiously" attached to.
As a turn of unfortunate events, the videogames' developer, Innerloop Studios, including it's IP, all went dark due to the high unprofitability of its second installment, IGI 2: Covert Strike. Thus, halting any further advancements in the franchise... Until 2019, when Toadman Interactive announced they picked up the IP to develop a third installment, IGI: Origins. Again, which too, died off in 2023 unfortunately.
Note
Due to all this existential crisis surrounding the IP, it has always been hard for fans to get their hands on a legit archived copy of (Project) IGI 1.
So, to help everyone out, here is a link to its original disc containing the untampered game. Enjoy.
